Divide

The large chasm that divides the Rocky Mountains, the Great Divide!

This is also a mathematical operation that cuts the whole object into fractional pieces, based on the number you divide into the whole.

To separate, as in split equally or otherwise in another number of parts.

The difference from the whole that we have separated, "What did you divide?".

The mathematical symbols which are used to represent the operation of divide, has several representations; ./. , /, a/b, (a)/(b) and more symbols that may not be able to be well represented here.

Scissors may be a symbol that reminds us of creating a part from the whole.
