Mathematical Understanding

What is mathematical understanding? Is there more than one way to solve a problem?

There may be many ways to look at the world and from many viewpoints, which may involve different branches of mathematics to solve the problem. The solutions should arrive at the same empirical value or the same conclusion to the problem.

Does one have to have a higher and higher or more complex way of looking at a solution or should it be as simple as possible so that more people can understand the solution? However a problem is solved should the logic not be easy to understand or will complex problems require complex solutions? Should we be able to solve a problem is it not important to see if there may be another way to solve the problem with different tools?

Should every problem that we solve have a visual representation that helps the imagination of other problem solvers to see how we may be thinking?

I think that it is very exciting to see the many solutions to a problem that come from the many different individuals that tackle the problem.

Enjoy mathematics or if you like logic, or thinking and solving any problem whether it has to do with mathematics or life!
